Due to the popularity of Joan's Nut and raisin bread with Marzipan and rum, (german stollen) we will be continuing production throughout the year or at least until the sales drop off. (Consider a German stollen for the summer season when guests drop in unexpectedly) They keep so well!!

JOAN AND PETER'S GERMAN RESTAURANT has been a fixture in San Juan Bautista, CA for more than 25 years. We are open 4 days a week, serving everybody’s favorite German Food. We are located on the main street of this historic Mission town.
Here you can find the finest quality veal with which we make a variety of delicious Schnitzels. Also on the menu, of course is the delicious Gypsy Schnitzel a savory blend of pork, peppers and paprika.
Our offerings consist of homemade apple strudel, made the old fashioned way by stretching the dough on the table and rolling in fresh apples, almonds and raisins. Hard to find that any more!! Also we feature homemade, (all our desserts are made on the premises) black forest cake with Kirschwasser.
Every day you will find made from scratch, soups and sauces coming from Peter’s kitchen. Hand grated potato pancakes are a perennial favorite. So be sure to order enough.
